Hi, I’m Sarah.

Working with dogs with a variety of backgrounds and behavioral needs has provided me with a large and diverse toolbox. I began Synergy Dog Training & Behavior Solutions because I have seen the heartache and challenges that people live with when their dog's behavior limits their freedom. I, too, have lived with dogs who have demanded more patience and skill from me than I sometimes felt I had. I believe in providing a service where you, your family and your dog can experience a cooperative relationship β€” one that gives you confidence in your dog’s choices, improving everyone’s quality of life.

I've been training dogs for over 25 years now. I am a Certified Dog Trainer and Professional Member of the International Association of Canine Professionals as well as an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator with a Certification as a Pet First Aid Responder.

All of these certifications, however, don’t compare to my experience. I managed Longmont Humane Society's Training & Behavior Department where I developed behavior modification plans for owned and unowned dogs. Deploying for the ASPCA’s Behavior Team while assisting their Field, Investigative and Response partner, I worked with dogs confiscated from abuse and hoarding cases. Most recently, I was Chief Operations Officer for the non-profit Dogs Playing for Life, where I trained dogs with advanced behavioral needs, while instructing people, nationwide, to assess and progress dogs with a variety of needs and challenges.

I continue to grow in my knowledge and have learned from many respected professionals, such as World Champion Ivan Balabanov, Next Level Dogs’ Jay Jack and, for 12 years with Aimee Sadler, CEO of Dogs Playing for Life. The 1000s of dogs I've had the privilege to experience, remain my greatest teachers.

Hello! I’m Annie.

For 12 years, I worked in the Training & Behavior Department at Longmont Humane Society. There, I evaluated dogs, supervised and directed a team of trainers, instructed classes of advanced level volunteers, developed & implemented behavior modification plans for shelter dogs, and provided private training to adopters. In addition, I specialized in dog to dog interactions helping those dogs lacking social skills and specifically fostered dogs with behavioral challenges. The variety of dogs I worked with, and the challenges they presented, expanded my understanding of dog behavior and our ability to communicate effectively with them. By doing so, I have gained experience allowing me the insight and flexibility to help our dogs provide more mannerly and safe behavior, thereby increasing everyone’s quality of life. I have consistently appreciated the individual needs of each dog I have encountered, as well as the all-important human component. Working with the people, who love their dogs, is an all-too-often ignored aspect of dog training. As a Synergy Dog Trainer and Instructor, I enjoy working with people and celebrating their dog’s successes with them, answering questions, and coaching in a manner that makes training clear and productive for both your dog and you!

Hi! I’m Lacey.

Animals have always held a very special place in my heart. Growing up with my own animals and spending a lot of time on farms throughout my life has given me countless opportunities to work with and learn from these amazing companions. My first experience with dog training was at 13, when my family welcomed home our first dog. She was trained to compete in AKC dog shows, and handling her training and presentation, she taught me just how incredible it is to work together, communicate, and truly connect with our dogs.

My love for training was rekindled when I adopted a puppy during COVID. My dog, Tonka, opened my world all over again, and I was fortunate to work with Synergy’s expert guidance, training Tonka to pass his Canine Good Citizen exam. I was thrilled to dive back in and, after completing a mentorship with Synergy, I became a trainer! These experiences, together with my history as a dog groomer, have helped me build and polish the tools in my toolbox, which I use every day. I continue to grow my knowledge base and feel so fortunate to draw on this wealth of experience to help others overcome challenges and build stronger connections with their beloved dogs!

Hi! I’m Sam.

I have always had a love and appreciation for animals, especially in the unique way that we all connect and communicate. I often say that I grew up in a humane society because I spent so much of my time there, learning about dog training and providing enrichment for the dogs.

After going off and studying humans and cultures, my passion for understanding the way we as humans and our canine companions communicate flourished once again. I dove back into the deep end working as a Lead Trainer and Playgroup Instructor for Dogs Playing for Life. I worked with dogs at numerous shelters and designed behavior modification plans for dogs at a national Canine Center. My experience includes training for both basic and advanced obedience, high drive dogs, dog to dog interactions, and a focus on dogs with behavioral concerns.  My work with dogs has now expanded to veterinary physical therapy and rehabilitation, rounding out my ability to support the overall behavioral health of individual dogs.

I am so lucky to be able to work with dogs and the people who love them through creating stronger connections and new avenues for communication.

Giving back to our community is something we really care about. See what we do and how you can help.

These are a few of the dogs that brought us here,
